In August 2024, the crude steel production of 71 countries included in the World Steel Association statistics was 144.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 6.5%.
In August 2024, Africa produced 1.9 million tons of crude steel, down 7.2% year-on-year; Asia and Oceania produced 107.1 million tons of crude steel, down 8.0% year-on-year; the EU (27 countries) produced 9.1 million tons of crude steel, up 2.2% year-on-year; other European countries produced 3.7 million tons of crude steel, up 8.4% year-on-year; the Middle East produced 3.4 million tons of crude steel, down 3.2% year-on-year; North America produced 9 million tons of crude steel, down 3.8% year-on-year; Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine produced 7 million tons of crude steel, down 8.7% year-on-year; South America produced 3.6 million tons of crude steel, up 0.8% year-on-year.

China's crude steel production was 77.92 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 10.4%;
India's crude steel production was 12.3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.6%;
Japan's crude steel production was 6.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.9%;
The United States' crude steel production was 7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%;
Russia's estimated crude steel production was 5.8 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 11.5%;
South Korea's crude steel production was 5.5 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.2%;
Germany's crude steel production was 2.9 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.5%;
Turkey's crude steel production was 3.1 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 13.8%;
Brazil's crude steel production was 3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7.3%;
Iran's crude steel production was 1.4 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9.9%.
